Jury rights activists once again conducted a jury nullification outreach operation in Brentwood.

Jury nullification is where a jury decides not to convict an otherwise guilty defendant based not on the letter of the law, but based on the jurors’ conscience. Activists hand pamphlets explaining this right to prospective jurors.

BJ Mumford and Kyle Mohney conducted the operation, handing out jury nullification information at Rockingham County Superior Court right before jury selection. It was the second week for this same group of potential jurors and over 95% of the people engaged this morning had already been given information last week.

21 people took another pamphlet anyway and a handful of people displayed their pamphlet from last week.
