Jury rights outreach – Brentwood (9/28/15)

Today BJ Mumford, Nicholas Boyle, and Kyle Mohney handed out jury rights information in Brentwood, NH.

JJuryBrentwood09282015ury nullification is where a jury chooses not to convict based not on the legality of the case at hand, but on the morality of the law. Activists inform jurors of this right by distributing informative pamphlets.

Since this was the 3rd week of selection, virtually all potential jurors had already engaged with activists or had previously received a pamphlet.  Roughly 90% of the potential jurors stated that they had already received a pamphlet with 1 person showing theirs from last week.  Still, 12 people took another one.

A lawyer stopped to talk with BJ for a minute about nullification and a case that he knew of where nullification had worked to deliver a not guilty verdict.  He also took a pamphlet and had very positive things to say about this outreach.
