Jury rights outreach – Brentwood (3/21/16)

bj+emmy

Jury rights activists BJ and Emmy conducted a jury education operation in Brentwood this morning at the Rockingham County Courthouse.

Jury nullification is the method by which a jury may find a defendant ‘not guilty’ based on whether the application of the law would yield a just result. A single juror therefore has the power to nullify a bad law,  empowering the individual citizens of the jury to balance the court system. Our activists volunteer their time to inform jurors of this right by passing out informative pamphlets in front of courthouses all across NH.

Despite the heavy morning snow and icy roads, the Rockingham County jurors still answered their summons and seemed to welcome the morning greeting from BJ and Emmy. 70 jurors accepted an informational pamphlet.
